Today was my final day in this week. We headed off to the library to sign up for the computers, learn how to use the facilities and to get our photos taken for our student cards. Needless to say my card looks daft! It honestly looks nothing like me but ah well.
It seems we will be getting to do a City and Guilds qualification in self tanning application (including spray tanning). This is normally a level three qualification but for the first year the lecturers decided they may as well teach us too. Fantastic (or should I say TANtastic?) news as it means once we have passed this module, we can actually get insurance and offer the service in the real world! I can’t imagine it will bring me in life changing amounts of money on its own but it will be great practice and a chance to build a client base for the future.
People in work (well the females in work) are starting to get excited about the skills I am going to be learning. Eager to be my guinea pigs and for me to just hurry up so they can use my services while helping me out with my practice runs.
I am also pleased to announce that NOBODY had to be told to put their phone away today – hurray!
It’s not often I use this phrase but roll on Monday morning! I genuinely am excited to get back into college next week to see what we will be learning.
Tomorrow and Friday will be spent finding myself a placement in a salon and browsing for a kit box (not that my kit has arrived yet! Perhaps tomorrow? Please!). Hopefully I can find something practical, cute and it won’t cost me the earth…. Hopefully…
